The Guardian Angel of Copernicus
Jameson McKenna was a student attending Copernicus University. He’d battled illness all his life, though he didn’t let it stop him from chasing his dreams. He loved easily, and took care of those that he thought were less fortunate than himself. He seemed to be in as perfect health as he could be, but one night he passed in his sleep without warning.
About the same time, tales of the “Guardian Angel of Copernicus” started to circulate. Students being attacked on campus would be rescued by a glowing winged figure, who would vanish as fast as he appeared. In the areas immediately near campus, people were pulled from burning buildings and vehicles. Pieces of bread and cartons of milk would appear next to the homeless. Even more, those that knew Jamesson as a friend or family member felt a comforting presence, and seemed to have a higher instance of Guardian Angel sightings than normal. This led most to believe that it could be a manifestation of super powers, and as part of the process Jamesson shed his mortal body to become the celestial warrior to protect the innocent.
Left at the feet of those facing depression and loneliness was a pewter figurine depicting the Guardian Angel – A tall, muscular figure, holding a royal-looking blade. The figure has six wings, and wears a tattered cloak, flowing pants, and metal greaves. The face has an expression of charitable love, and it is crushing a serpent with its foot.
