Diablo Verde

The Diablo Verde was a silver vein discovered shortly after the U.S. Civil War. For nearly a decade the town lived “high on the hog” as massive quantities of silver ore were extracted from the earth, making many miners and entrepreneurs rich beyond their wildest dreams. But when the Diablo Verde eventually ran dry the mines were shut down and forgotten as the town transitioned into becoming a shipping hub.
The true extent of the mines was never properly documented. It’s suggested that they extended well past Rattle Ridge and underneath several neighboring districts. But years of abandonment and neglect have collapsed parts of the subterranean network of mines and made what remains unsafe. Officially all the known entrances were shut down decades ago for public safety, though occasionally someone stumbles upon one or digs into and reveals an unknown section of the mines.
