Not Invincible

Granny Can Be Hurt

Hi boys and girls- my name is Ethel, or if your parents taught you well, Mrs. Falkenberg. I promise that everything I am about to tell you is true- or, in my advanced age, I just misremembered.

Ok, so this superpower thing has all been fun and games, up until now! We went in to fight Papa Zombie, and we seemed to be pretty organized, for once. The Beast made himself look like one of the zombies, and somehow, single-handed, made sure that reinforcements never happened. He used some great misdirection and some well-placed rocket grenade blasts I later learned. Meanwhile, my Brother showed his awesome caring side and manufactured some sort of cure for the zombie curse, making himself some sort of folk hero for Century Station! I am so proud of him!

The rest of us went and beat on the man himself, Papa Zombie! Black Phantom did the long distance shooting, and Gryphon and I did the close up work, and we actually worked well together! I won’t bore you with details of the fight, but we got him, kept bloodshed to a minimum, and somewhere in there I got hit, hard! The fall into a deep hole, the strange magic, and the construction equipment, along with bullets, grenades, etc- well, somewhere in there something actually hurt me! Now, it didn’t hurt much, nothing this old broad didn’t recover from a few minutes later, but I guess Superman still has something on me- I can get hurt.

Bring it on! We are just discovering how to be a true team- S.A.V.I.O.R. will be the savior of many innocent lives! We are S.A.V.I.O.R.-Swift Altruistic Valiant Industrious Observant Resolute!

  1. A little behind the scenes peek: Every Rocket Launcher I had placed in that battle was for Ethel, to finally illustrate the limits of her power. Thankfully other options presented themselves once The Beast disabled those threats.
