The Vault is a unique coffee shop across from Copernicus University. Decades ago it was a bank until the branch moved to a better location, leaving the building vacant. A local entrepreneur saw a great opportunity and bought the location to turn it into a coffee shop for college kids. In keeping with the bank theme it was named “The Vault.” Today it’s a thriving business, consistently packed with college kids, professors, and other locals. Various coffee chains in the district have attempted to purchase and shut down the store but the owner continually and steadfastly refuses to sell.
